3D trunk scan

Scan the spot for your sub with your phone and the calculator will work out the size of a box that fits there, taking slanted seatbacks and wheel wells into account.

How it will work

  1. Scan the spot with a free 3D scanner app on your phone: the trunk, behind the seat, a side panel.
  2. Upload the scan file to the site. It is processed right in your browser and never sent anywhere.
  3. Tap the floor and walls on the 3D model and the calculator finds the box size, including a wedge box that follows the seatback.
  4. Spots where the box would hit a wheel well or trim get highlighted. One click sends the size to the calculator.

What you need

Best: an iPhone or iPad Pro with LiDAR, so the scan comes out at true scale. Other phones work too, but you will need to enter one known measurement, such as the width of the opening.

In the meantime

Measure the space with a tape and enter the width, height and depth in the calculator: it will pick a sub and a box for that space.

Open the calculator

A scan gives an estimate accurate to about 1/2–3/4″ (1–2 cm). Double-check the key measurement with a tape before you build.
